Client Opportunity - St Xavier High School

Associate Director of Athletics

Founded in 1864, Saint Xavier High School is a Xaverian Brother, Catholic college preparatory school for boys in grades 9-12. In addition to academic excellence, St. X has established itself as an athletic powerhouse in the region. Our 54-acre campus is located in the heart of Louisville. 

St. X is proud to be the only Kentucky high school to have earned the US Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Aware four times and is consistently ranked among the ‘Best Catholic Schools’ in America by Niche, the largest website for researching K-12 schools. 

Saint Xavier High School is searching for their next Associate Director of Athletics. Essential Functions 

• Attends all home varsity football games to assist with crowd control and security. 

• Serves as the official school representative at home and away athletic events as scheduled in conjunction with the Director of Athletics. 

• Makes a conscientious effort to visit each St. X team’s practice and/or competition at some point in each season in order to demonstrate visibility and support for each program. 

• Assists the Director of Athletics with planning and preparation for athletic banquets, special events/ceremonies, and the Saint Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame. 

• Keeps an accurate inventory of St. X awards and assists the Director of Athletics in preparing awards for all banquets. 

• Checks weekly grade reports to determine the academic eligibility of athletes. 

• Coordinates the distribution of locks/lockers to all athletic teams. 

• Assists with site preparation and clean up for home athletic events as scheduled with the Director of Athletics. 

• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with the Director of Athletics to coordinate the various aspects of the athletic program. 

• Demonstrates initiative to be helpful to the Director of Athletics and the coaching staff. 

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, President, or Principal. Job 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Education, or related field;  

• 3+ years’ experience in an athletic setting;  

• Prior experience in developing and implementing athletic programs;  

• Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include weeknights and weekends 

• This position requires a background check and the employee must complete the Safe Environment Training course offered through the Archdiocese of Louisville, The course must be completed within 30 days of employment.

Working Environment and Conditions  

• The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 

• This position requires working outside, in an office environment, and throughout the campus 

• Nights and weekends required due to scope of responsibility 

• Moderate travel may be required
