Impact Giving Leader

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville brings our community together to build stable homes, strong relationships, and healthy neighborhoods. Our homeownership program empowers low-income families to invest in themselves and their communities. In addition to our homeownership program, we believe in revitalizing and investing in our city’s most underserved neighborhoods through home repairs and beautification projects.

We are seeking an experienced, strategically oriented Impact Giving Leader to join our team. This individual plays a vital role in helping Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville expand its impact by cultivating strong relationships with donors and securing significant philanthropic support. This position is responsible for identifying and developing major gift prospects, cultivating, and stewarding donor relationships, closing gifts, and increasing contributions from both current and new supporters. Additionally, the Impact Giving Leader will lead planned giving strategies and play a key role in grant writing and management to secure foundation, corporate, and government support.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic fundraiser with a proven record of soliciting and closing major gifts, writing successful grant proposals, and stewarding donor relationships. They are a strategic relationship-builder, a compelling communicator, and a passionate advocate for affordable housing.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Leadership and Strategy

· Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors with $1,500+ gift capacity.

· Solicit and close major gifts of $1,500 and above, securing multi-year commitments where possible.

· Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that advance donor engagement and loyalty.

· Lead Habitat’s planned giving program, including strategy development, donor education, and cultivation.

· Partner with senior leadership, board members, volunteers, and other stakeholders to enhance donor engagement opportunities.

· Collaborate with the Development Team to create and execute an annual fundraising plan that integrates major gifts, planned giving, and grants.

· Forecast revenue and track progress toward fundraising goals.

· Secure sponsors for Habitat’s Building Hope initiatives, cultivate meaningful relationships that advance both philanthropic investments and mission impact.

· Manage and steward relationships with House Sponsors.

Grant Writing and Management

· Research, identify, and prioritize grant opportunities from foundations and corporations' sources.

· Write compelling grant proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry that effectively communicate Habitat’s mission, programs, and impact.

· Manage grant submission calendars to ensure timely submissions and reporting.

· Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and success stories that strengthen proposals and reports.

· Track and steward grant funders, ensuring strong relationships and continued support.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship

· Conduct donor research, prepare personalized proposals and materials, and coordinate meeting logistics.

· Engage donors through thoughtful, timely, and mission-centered stewardship activities.

· Represent Habitat at events, presentations, and donor meetings with professionalism and enthusiasm.

· Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in Raiser’s Edge.

Team and Organizational Support

· Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer to align donor communications and storytelling.

· Support the development team events and campaigns as needed.

· Contribute to the success of the Development Team by assisting with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting, including securing major gifts and writing successful grant proposals.

· Demonstrated success in managing a donor portfolio and achieving fundraising goals.

· Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to craft persuasive proposals and deliver engaging presentations.

· Strong grant writing and reporting skills, with proven success securing foundation and corporate funding.

· Knowledge of professional fundraising standards, practices, and donor stewardship principles.

· Highly organized with strong planning, research, and time management skills.

· Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.

· High level of computer literacy, including MS Office Suite and fundraising CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred).

· Passion for Habitat’s mission and commitment to advancing affordable housing solutions in Louisville.

Working Environment & Conditions

· Ability to travel locally for donor meetings and events

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds

· This position requires working in an office and construction environment

· This position is full-time and is an exempt role. Working hours may be required outside of the standard business day, and nights and Saturdays will periodically be required due to scope of responsibility

· Valid Kentucky driver's license
